To commemorate this Year’s World Cancer Survivors Day, The Nigeria Cancer Society in partnership with Federal Medical Centre, Owerri and Walk With us Cancer Foundation in collaboration with Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora Foundation and Glad Women & Children Health Initiatives Organized a 1-day Health talk on the Theme of this year’s event which is Surviving into the Future.
This year’s event featured different categories of activities such as: aerobic exercise at the venue of the event, an Exhortation talk, a scientific presentation and stories of cancer survivors where most of the survivors pointed out that early detection of cancer saves lives and encouraged people to always seek medical attention when they discover an abnormal growth in their body and they should ensure that they do a lot of exercises as this helps in the prevention of cancer.
During a presentation made by Dr Opara from Federal Medical Centre, Owerri on the topic CANCER: Balancing Science and Faith. Dr Opara pointed out that Both SCIENCE and FAITH agree that cancer is a problem and that Cancer patients should always take their medication and advice from their health care providers even as they seek God’s help through faith.
