SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACTS

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world and it is responsible for about 9.6 million deaths in 2018 as stated by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The feedbacks gotten from some of the women that participated in this programme are as follow;

  • The programme played a major role in fighting off one of the biggest killers of humans and to maintain the health and well-being of the population.
  • If the prevention of cancer and cancer-related health are known by people, people can spend more of their years in good health.
  • If cancer and cancer-related health challenges are detected as early as possible and responded appropriately to, would prevent the development of disease.
  • That the programmed educate a whole population, rather than focusing on health at an individual level.
  • It ensured everyone (at the meeting) is aware of cancer and health hazards.

In general, WAWUC bridged the gap between people and health education and influenced the improvement of people’s health through this programme and it was a great satisfaction to Wawuc.

The programme was an educative and interactive one because people from all works of life asked questions which were answered by our resource persons.
